Our Solution

Stylit.TV's design specifications required functionality not readily available through open source software. We therefore decided to create out own application based on the tried and tested model-view-controller (MVC) methodology. Stylit.TV uses a custom controller, view, and template structure with a 3rd party object-relations-manager allowing for easy scalability. The application is configured in such a way that it easily adapts to multiple hosting environments and back end database solutions.

Stylit.TV includes advanced javascript scripting using the jQuery library, as well as a comprehensive administrative back end using open flash charts. The use of innovative user interface features, such as dragging and dropping from file trees, makes the administrative back end extremely flexible and easy to use. However, our most significant technical achievement, was the implementation of a short URL system that can pack a significant amount of information into a domain URL with just 5 additional characters.
