David Barthwell, the founding principal and creative director of Verge Studios, was born in Chicago, Illinois. He studied art at Yale University, graduating in 2004 with honors and distinction in the major. His work is strongly influenced by his classical fine arts training in drawing, painting, photography, color, and composition.

Beyond art, he has always cultivated a strong interest in sociology, psychology, art history, and their intersections. His curiosity and balance of formal and autodidactic education has provided him with the ability to adapt to a wide range of mediums, visual styles, and communication techniques. An avid technology enthusiast since early childhood, David is not only comfortable with the tools of the design trade, but with programming and building his own systems.

He has worked on many types of projects - both as a team member and as a lead - ranging from magazines to branding to user interface design.

Beyond design and technology, David is interested in cooking, travel, and sports. He currently plays rugby for the Berkeley Rugby Football Club.

Max Neuvians joined Verge Studios in the Summer of 2005 after graduating from Yale University with a B.A. in History. Born in Germany, but growing up in Tanzania and Zimbabwe, Max could not pass up the opportunity to follow his academic passion for African history in lieu of a computer science related degree. A strong rooted interest in technology and programming, however, brought him back to the technical field with an emphasis in knowledge and information management as well as mobile technology.

During his time at Verge Studios, Max was given numerous opportunities to expand his knowledge and intellectual ambitions, including the pursuit of a Masters Degree in History from McGill University in 2007, while maintaining close work contact with the team at Verge Studios and their clients. Since the beginning of 2008, Max has been Verge Studios' full time technical director, largely responsible for technical solutions to problems ranging from systems administration to programming and information management.

Max currently resides in Canada, where he lives with his fiancée and kitten. He enjoys spending time with his friends and family.
